This handsome Victorian semi-detached sandstone villa was home to an expanding young family. With only a single bathroom, the brief to create additional bedrooms and bathrooms without extending the footprint was far from straight forward.
At ground floor the existing utility/laundry room was demolished to make way for a large family kitchen\dinning room with a new ‘dirty’ utility area/cloakroom accessed off the garden for the traffic of small feet. This remodeling at ground floor in turn released the potential for an additional bedroom and shower room above, accessed via the removal of the first floor landing cupboard. Additional children’s rooms are also created within the existing/new attic space.
