Internal reconfiguration of a semi-detached sandstone villa in Uddingston, Glasgow. The existing kitchen location suffered from a severe lack of natural daylight with no direct access to the garden. Through the removal of internal structural walls the plan was simplified to create a large multi purpose space. A large section of the existing rear sandstone wall was removed and an exposed steel channel carefully inserted to follow the existing joint lines. New glazed doors to the South West re-orientate the kitchen to the garden and provide direct access to the outside.
“Darren listened carefully to what we thought we wanted and provided designs for this as well as his alternatives. He took time to explain them in detail and walk us through the options down to the tiniest of detail. Darren was always on hand to liaise between ourselves and the contractors, always with the greatest attention to detail. We would not hesitate to recommend the services of MDa.”
